December 25, 2015. The Government of Nepal appointed Sushil Gyawali as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), an important milestone for Nepal's reconstruction.
Mr. Gyawali is a civil engineer with over 20 years of experience at the local level from Butwal Municipality to Lumbini Development Trust. Prior to becoming the CEO of the National Reconstruction Authority, Mr. Gyawali was serving as the executive director of the Town Development Fund.
Mr. Gyawali will focus on wider participation of Nepalis at the local level and will continue to seek support from international donors.
International donors have pledged US$4.1 billion for reconstruction and rehabilitation works. In addition to this, the government has allocated NPRs 74 billion (Neplaese Rupees) to the National Reconstruction Fund.
