NRA’s Development Assistance Coordination and Facilitation Committee (DACFC) holds its first meeting

October 28, 2016.  The first meeting of the NRA’s Development Assistance Coordination and Facilitation Committee (DACFC) was held on October 28.

As established by the NRA’s regulations, the Committee was formed by the Advisory Council of NRA.  The primary function of the Committee is to ensure that the reconstruction efforts supported by national and international development partners, as well as by civil society, are carried-out in a coordinated fashion. The committee also provides advice and makes recommendations to the Government of Nepal, the NRA, and development agencies by regularly monitoring and reviewing the progress achieved in the reconstruction process.

During this first meeting, participants reviewed the procedures of the committee as well as the nomination process of members and invitees.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Government of India and China; representatives of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the International Development Partners Group (IDPG), the Association of International NGOs, the NGO Federation, and the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  The meeting was also attended by several representatives from Nepal government’s agencies including the Ministry of Finance, the National Planning Commission and the Financial Comptroller General’s Office.
